Northumbrian Water Group

Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people in the northeast of England and water services to 1.8 million people in the southeast of England. Every day we supply 1.1 billion litres of water to homes and businesses. This water is drawn from reservoirs, rivers and groundwater sources, treated at our works and supplied by a network of pipes to homes and businesses. In northeast England, wastewater is collected from these properties via the sewerage network and treated at our works before being returned to the environment as either clean water or sludge which can be recycled as fertiliser or used to generate energy.

Sustainability is at the core of our purpose. This means seeking to protect and enhance the environment in everything we do; being the best we can in meeting our customers’ needs and having a positive impact on the communities where we operate; and making a financial return so we are economically viable long into the future.
